Bondi Hero Faces Assault Charges
Ahmed al Ahmed, the 44-year-old hero who disarmed an Islamic State-inspired terrorist during the December 2025 Bondi Beach mass shooting, is in hot water now with some serious new charges. Recently in Sydney, Ahmed faced domestic violence assault charges after he put his father in a headlock during a nasty incident on March 9 in Bankstown, per New South Wales police. The trouble doesn’t stop there; he's also been charged with common assault, stalking, and intimidation.
Just months ago, Ahmed was hailed as a hero. His dad even publicly praised him, right after Ahmed became a household name and received donation amounts between A$2.5 million and A$3 million. This followed the horrific antisemitic attack that left 15 dead and Ahmed injured. Still, Ahmed insists these new claims against him are entirely false.
He’s set to appear in court on June 29 in Bankstown Local Court. Poor guy, things sure took a turn for the worse since his heroic moment at Bondi Beach.
